750 meter fitness trail located around the perimeter of
Optimist Park at 330 Chestnut Street, St. Thomas.
Optimist Park was established in a growing city subdivision in the early 1970's and stands today as the most significant neighbourhood park in the city.
In 2016, the “outdoor” fitness trail at Optimist Park in St. Thomas was installed. It hosts 6 different fitness stations featuring 18 pieces of equipment. The new trail provides an opportunity to meet others around the neighborhood as well as a place for residents of all ages to Get Up, Get Active and stay fit. BENEFITS OF A FITNESS TRAIL INCLUDE:
The equipment is designed for ages 8+, this will promote families to enjoy time together, but also allow adults and seniors a place to exercise in the outdoors. As “Friends of the Youth” we need to provide an opportunity for our youth to develop a healthy lifestyle that carries into adulthood.
